Hello everyone,

Just finished integrating the Oculus Rift in XStoryPlayer (10.00 PM).

I think the result is very nice. It really feels as if a girl is standing in the same room.

To give you a small peek of the result here is a short video.

Best is to download the video and play it fullscreen with your Oculus Rift on.

Try it and step into the Bob's shoes.

I tried to view this without an OR by making myself cross-eyed. But it didn't work right because the wrong image was going to the wrong eye...

I had no problems doing the cross eye trick, well other then my eyes hurt now.

Nice work, the video looks good. I want an OR more than ever.

Well I was still getting a 3D effect but everything looked like it was flinching between dimensions.

EDIT: I've been meaning to ask this, what is with the burger butt poster?

I decided to do more in depth research into the OR.
Quote:
Resolution: Developer kit: 1280×800 (640×800 per eye), Consumer version: ≥1920×1080

Meep  And Here I was hoping I could use it with my current hardware...

The consumer will have 960x1080 per eye. So basically that's same as a 960x1080 monitor.

Given the fact that the fovy is pretty large (about 1.7 times larger than normal) the actual visual resolution is about 560x630 (for consumer version).

So that's still not a lot. A good resolution would be about 1600x1600 per eye I think.

But on the other hand even with the low resolution developer version the effect looks great I think.

If you need a guy with an oculus rift and a lot of experience with it for beta testing, just drop me a line ;)

I noticed objects pop in and out at the edges, I guess with the OR thingy on you wouldn't even notice...

Yes these objects are not visible with OR headset on
