Looks interesting, wonder how much i'd need to upgrade my PC if this was implemented though. :D

I have taken a look at the scanned models a time back.

They look very nice and realistic but animation is a problem with these meshes.

Especially the mouth area that cannot be scanned correctly.

So while its very nice to look at, to make a game with these models will proof to be difficult.

They have a facial animation, but that consists of 256 meshes that are "played" after each other.

With 25 fps that results in 10 sec of facial animation.

Also the lighting is captured. This means the model is always lighted from the same angle. This is not a big issue. because by adding an extra light it still looks good.

I think using a scanned model for deriving a cleaned up model would be very interesting. But that will require a complex algorithm to do automatically.
