ZBrush kinda works like modeling with clay.

That said, I couldn't get used to its interface, it's very non-standard and confusing.

Also, tabletop 3d scanners are becoming affordable, so you could just model in real clay and scan the result. I guess it would need a little touch up once digitized though.

Zbrush was just for editing the textures while they were on objects. It's been a looonnggg time since i even tried it so maybe you can model now in program.

I think it's mainly for sculpting now

Basically you get a shitload of different "brushes" and you can move them along the model's surface to extrude, remove or bend material (etc)
I'm sure their interface isn't bad at all if you know how to use it, but it is as non standard and proprietary as it gets with a windows application (there isn't even a Windows(tm) window around the app)

Blender is indeed your best bet. If you don't feel like modeling, use a human model generator software like Makehuman (http://www.makehuman.org) or Fuse character creator (available on Steam, I understood it's permanently free these days) to create a character close to your liking, then use Blender's scultping tools to make it your masterpiece. You really don't need to master the basic polygonal modeling anymore, but rudimentary knowledge of it is still essential.

Daz 3D doesn't edit mesh out of the box, but addons available for mesh editing are much less pricey than an autodesk suite or the mesh addons for Unity. Daz 3D also doesn't have a built-in dope sheet, but for about $15 you can get one as good as Unity's and Poser's.

I only recently started learning to work with mesh, and since that presents a steep learning curve no matter which software you use, I decided to go with Blender. With Makehuman and the ManuelBastioniLab (http://www.manuelbastioni.com/manuellab.php) you can get a great base to start working with, and produce commercial quality models without being beholden to any software licenses.

Have you guys actually made your own character and put them into the game?? I’ve heard about “character creation” but haven’t seen anyone who has actually made their own yet. I downloaded the free month or Amaya but like someone else said, very intimidating, plus I’m not very savvy with that kind of thing, I can’t even hardly understand how to insert mods...
If someone has the ability to create a character for me to my liking so I can use it I will make a donation

i have added a custom character, however its not an easy task and requires a lot of knowledge from how to rig and do face morphs to being able to script to add it into the game
for mine i baked the clothing into the model and have barely functioning face morphs

Yeah that sounds way out of my league lol...do happen to know anyone who’s pretty good at it that if I were to contact them they could do one for me?

Sorry i don't know anyone (including myself) that would be good enough to implement a character professionally
Best to wait until version 4 and see what kind of modding tools/character creators are available then

That’s no problem Eskarn I sure appreciate your replies, you’re always there for me lol. I can’t wait for the new one! This is the best adult game out and the graphics are the best! I’m really surprised the guys or girls behind it haven’t gotten more help to get the new one done. Maybe they have and I just don’t know it. But I figured people would be all over this game. IMO this game beats the hell out of sexvilla and 3dxchat

There is software to help do an easy character creation.
Character creation 3 for example.
Or edit the existing ones from DAZ3D and ofcourse there is poser.

Problem is i think the genitals and the way skin reacts.

Too bad the Dev's made it to only work in Maya and/or Zbrush, Maya itself is wildly expensive.. and Blender can do a lot if not all of it and is totally free.
