No money is collected until the campaign ends, and they won't receive any of it until some weeks after that (I've forgotten the exact waiting period, but it's weeks), unfortunately, but I imagine it's a morale boost to know it's coming.

Yes, you are correct Kalrekos. It takes about 6 weeks, after the project before the funding can be used. Of course we are already making some expenses in anticipation of it. But the moral support is also nice (although it does put the pressure up as well).
