A settings.ini file with these lines in it, should be enough to start in another render mode:

Code:
display
{
  rendermode = DIRECTX9;
}

still no go, i think it might be the oculus sdk the application ran before i uninstalled and re-downloaded everything, did you updat the rift sdk to 0.7? because it doesnt play nice with win 10. and its also weird the this new install did not creat a settings.ini file or is that created on first run of the app?

Yes, the settings.ini should be automatically created always. If this is not the case it could be that a program like Avast! is blocking the .exe to run.
Make sure no program is blocking the software from running.

N.b.
Everything should run fine under windows 10. Also the Oculus 0.7.0.0 patch.

ok ill do a restart and uninstall, unfortunatly atm when i run the x64 exe it creates a ghost process that doesnt show in task manager. so i have to do a full restart if i want to unistall and re install, this time ill pause Avast and only install 3.5 and the 3.5 patch, and see if it will install the ini and run correctly

Avast! has been know to give issues. It blocks all software that is downloaded from internet by default (if this software is unknown to it).
You need to unblock XSP manually.

Yeah it crashes directly.

2. Changed the ini to `OPENGL` and `DIRECTX` and `DIRECTX9` -> crash on selection
3. Installed the 3.5 1 patch ->crash on selection
4. Changed the ini to `OPENGL` and `DIRECTX` and `DIRECTX9` with the patch -> crash on selection

Please send the trace.txt file to the support section. So we can take a look at it.

one issue i see right away is your game version is off. Yours says Version: (3.5.0003) it should say

Version: (3.5.0006)

My guess is you didn't install the patch.

i'd try taking out all the plugins from the folder and installing the savepoints.

also here is some screenshots of my main folder and the x64 folder. maybe you are missing a file and this will help.

EDIT: the quick unpacker isn't a stock file, so you shouldn't have that one.

The version should be 3.5.0012 or higher.

Please make sure you have installed latest version.
That seems to be the reason the Halloween pack is not working for you.

3.5.0012? is that just for the dk2 patch? I installed the 3.5 then the first patch and Halloween patch and mine shows 3.5.0006. I know there was another patch but i was under the impression it's only needed if you wanted to use the VR mode. My game works flawlessly so i'm not worried about it. just wondering why my version number is so far off.

and here is my downloads folder for the manager, this is what i mean about them not matching. That patch isn't the same as the OR patch in the screenshot abouve and I do have the tuorial pack.

@Nautica

The releases are very minor. Mostly small fixes like e.g. coffee machine popup.

If the software runs fine I would not reinstall.
