all technical details aside, can't you just appreciate the facts that

-a very small team (one guy?) made a 3d porn game engine with sex physics and clothing physics years ago, before it was possible to do that in any major game engine at that time (and before they went all open source and free to use) and not even nvidia did a tech demo yet....
-they made a game from said engine which is what I still consider the best 3d sex game in existence (that doesn't mean there isn't much room for improvement)
-the game runs fine on pretty much any graphics card and computer
-they didn't really commercialize their thing like any other successful porn game devs did so far

-the same guys did probably also evaluate the available game engines and either came to the result that they are not sufficient or they want to do it for the fun (yes, for the fun) of doing it. Are you really in a position to question their decision?

If you ask me, if they were able to have these advanced features years ago, I do think that their new engine will probably do things that would be very hard or time consuming to implement in an existing engine.

Also, on a technical note: I have been overseeing quite a number of software development projects (not game related) in the last 15 years, and numerous SDKs were used in those. Turns out other people write buggy, insufficient code, too. I'd say with 3rd party code, there were as many brick walls hit as roads opened. Even with a totally os engine, it can be a humongous task to try to understand it in depth so you can go add missing features or fix bugs while wading through the 90% of code that you actually never use in your project.

Now I'm not saying it's not possible to make XSP x with an available engine. I'm also not saying that some updates about progress wouldn't be nice, personally I can live without them. I just think it's funny some of you seem to believe that
a) You waiting much too long for this new engine (almost a year already for just ONE engine and game, shocking)
b) that this would have been done much faster by using an existent game engine.

Just my 5 cents.

To the devs: Ignore this forum completely if it means you can write 1 LOC more a day. I know that 5 minutes spent on something that interrupts you from coding can feel like you lost weeks in productivity. If you need funds for a good coffee machine or anything else that lets you work more productively, PM me I'm happy to help.

I agree with riftporn, it would be good if we could chip in every now and then random amounts of cash.

[EDIT]
I have made a stupid mistake of not reading forums as required. There IS a chance to Donate here is the link in the forum: http://www.xmoonproductions.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=233

No I do not believe it would have been much faster to develop the game specific features for the game using an existing engine. It would just give a whole set of tools for doing all the extra things we get accustomed to. It can ease development as well and can help with the artwork pipeline. Yes, I do appreciate what has gone into XSP. I also saw at one point they were looking to use a different engine or write a new one. Partly due to the huge amount of work to create one from scratch. I have no idea where they ended up, but I imagine it was something based upon the huge amount of things they learned from the first engine.

For me I would start with an engine because I simply don't know enough about graphics rendering especially shaders. I could take the time to learn it, but if there is something I can use for that so I can spend time on the actual game that is the way I would go. I have no idea what the skill sets for the people from XSP are. It is perhaps simpler for them to write it from scratch.

Well I think the main thing here is that they seem to know how to write their own engine :)

This is true. I do hope they are able to fix it up / optimize. It does a few things well, but leaves enough to be desired. A few jiggles and some cloth was a nice trick, but tech is moving ahead quite quickly!

I think the direction this is heading sounds great!
I do have a concern with the girls though, having just one base model sounds very limited even if it can be customized.
I really hope its possible to at least switch out the head, cause being involved myself in char customization i know its not really possible to get a wide variety of shapes even with 20 face sliders, even if the texture is changed.

I am going to do this again, chaps. The latest release is from "Mon Jul 13, 2015 11:07 am" since then there were two expansions added, and then the creators vanished with some odd responses to show they are still around. As much as I adore what has been done and I would invest what I could afford to this game, there has not been any update or a date that would make myself or probably everyone here count down days towards. I have high interest in this game, therefore expectations and it causes me annoyance when I am left in dark, I am doing what I can to increase community, but my hands are tied when people ask me about the life of the project. I don't know where it stands. It has been 9 months since the most recent update. Can I please know when the next version is going to roll out?

@Sparrow
I know what you mean :(
I posted on May 10 with the suggetions to make 1-2 news posts but currently nothing happens.
So i cant say if the game is in development or dead.

Some Status Posts would help to know thats going on or how the current status is.
But currently there is no specific news or post that gives informations where we are.
This kind of communication is very bad for the game!

So i hope there is some news or more informations what is currently in progress.
