@xpadmin
Could you please upload a manequin model for correct scale check?
I do need it to fit my wip to the games standard. I dont like to rescale everything after the modáble version release...

Scale in Maya is 1 unit is 1 meter.

We will add resource pack when modding wiki is up.

If you don't need it 100% accurate you can use this for saiko (maya file of saiko, scales might be off by a tad)

The reference model will have bones, weights and every detail you need for it to be used in the game and adapted to your preference.

I like to wait a bit with model examples because it will flood this forum with questions about it.

That is the reason why I first want to have the wiki up. We hope to have it up at the beginning of next year.

On the wiki detailed examples on how to create objects and models will be given.

What xpadmin has hinted at and now says straight out is that he'll rather do a wiki and then "release" the content than just have everybody carpet bombing him with noobish questions (and I know I'll be one of those noobs - got Maya2015 and lots of other software, but am lacking a bit in the skill and patience department).

xpadmin and the users here are a helpful lot, but answering the same questions over and over and over again can be the death of any forum - trust me, I've seen it happen enough times.

BUT if you have the skills and patience, I encourage you to have a go at it - we're all starving for new content ;)

I perfectly understand the hesitation to release bits of information and then face the myriad of questions about the missing bits.
There are problems with this approach tho, mainly
- it's gonna be pretty damn time consuming to write a good wiki for all of this
- there will still be a tsunami of questions from new modders about every little detail once the wiki is out
- all those questions will be asked at once

In my opinion, a soft release would be a better idea: Release what you got lying around, clearly mark it "as-is" and "without warranty or support" and people will figure it out. From what I've seen, the conduct in this forum is pretty good (don't know about the PMs xpadmin is getting of course ;) ) so this might work out.
The advantage of a soft release would be that you only need to have a basic structure in the wiki set up and then have users fill in most of the things that can be figured out without further explanations. (In fact, us modders already acquired a lot of knowledge to fill in)

Be aware that many more experienced modders don't need much if any explanation about how things work. They just need examples and a place to exchange their knowledge. It's kinda part of the definition of "Modding" that people figure out stuff themselves, as most games aren't even meant to be modded and certainly don't have a dedicated modding wiki set up for users. To me and many others, figuring it out ourselves is actually the best part about modding.

That said, the decision is entirely xpadmin's, and everybody should honour the work and effort he puts into the game and writing on this forum.

And I'm sorry for helping to lift the lid of pandorras box a tiny bit :)

Also I think they discount ability of modder to help each other. Even with wiki people will ask questions and get help from other modder. And object for game have to be very close to examples anyway because of game engine. Other question will be "how to do in maya" because that is confuse by itself.
