Very nice stuff. Animating these scanned females would make a great game.

Correcting some of the flaws and adding animated hair, eyes, etc. Plus environment effects (wind), will truly make those demos extremely creepy and real.

Absolutely agree,

Great to see that the OR developers will add two important features to the next (consumer) version namely,

- HD resolution
- Position tracking

The OR and new versions of the OR will be supported in all future releases of XSP.

Sony and Microsoft also announced that they'll release an equivalent device

Will you make support for any of this ? (not sure about microsoft as it seems to be for xboxone)

I hope the Sony one is compatible with the PC, it looks really good.

If the other "OR's" are also successful we will support them. The video mode will probably be very similar as with the original OR, so only the head tracking will have to be added for those devices.

I saw a so-called "rival" for the OR while browsing about yesterday. I can't find the actual picture, but it's similar to the one I'll post below and was supposed to be in a price range of about $500.00.

I personally think this type of design is terrible. It reminds me of an all-in-one computer. If a webcam stops working, you're screwed until you send out the whole thing so it can get fixed.

Any design that would follow that picture I can see going wrong. Both if the ear parts give out, and also for audio quality. I'd prefer to have my own quality headset which I can switch out should something happen to them and still have the OR sitting next to me, ready to go.

I am still looking forward to this technology being further developed. Who knows, maybe one day we will have VR MMOs not unlike Sword Art Online. You know, minus the being trapped part. Hopefully we'll have it in our lifetimes.

I really want to order a dev kit, but I'm holding back. I hope they'll have a full consumer version in the market soon.

I wonder if these other devices also have the screendoor issue.
