Steam made an announcement today on their stance towards adult and controversial games.

https://steamcommunity.com/games/593110 ... 6200553082

This may mean that adult games could/should be allowed on Steam in the near future, which gets me thinking...
What if this game ended up on Steam? For starters, it could breathe new life into the game and maybe encourage the developers to speak up a bit more often (as well as fund more active development).
It would also be preferable to be able to redeem our existing copies for Steam copies. Granted, I'm not too keen on showing/telling all of my steam friends that I'm virtually porking women at that moment, so I'd be making an alternate Steam account for adult games; but it would be nice to have that option.

This would also open up more visible discussion for the game, as well as generate visible reviews for the content.

Just some ideas, and I found the announcement interesting. The decision could help adult gaming as a whole, to be honest.

I like the idea of more truly adult games being on Steam. It would open up the industry to more expressions of art that otherwise can't or aren't being created for mass consumption due to current limitations with the platform.

That said, there's always the flip-side to that argument.

When you open up any form of media to a larger audience, you also invite elements of that particular audience you may not otherwise want. Trolls and toxic people being just two of those. While having a larger community can be seen as a boon to the developer's wallet, it can also create a lot more issues in the long-term, having to police or administrate that community to keep a certain type of overall feeling in place.

Right now, this particular community seems to be incredibly open and friendly, readily offering help and assistance to new players, creators, and general public. It's fostering a sense of belonging that invites people to come in and ask questions, experiment with the software, and also meet new people that share similar interests. That level of camaraderie can be difficult to maintain when the community reaches a certain size or larger.

All that aside, if it can bring in more talent to this already amazing product, and introduce more great people to this community, I think it's a great idea. =)

It's a good idea that Steam does not want to police the content and let the users decide what they want.
I'm gonna take a guess and say to a point, I'm sure there's some stuff they wont let in.
However it's up to the individuals country and laws if they can purchase that game

I'm Australian and if there's a game that even mentions a drug name its instantly banned
Like Cataclism dark days ahead, its ASCII graphics and was banned for having drug names
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_b ... _Australia
i'm sure the actual list is a lot bigger

Something you'll learn very quickly is that Valve can spin on a dime just like that, and if they allow adult content soon, you can bet your socks it won't be long before they block it again like they've done so many times before already.

I'm personally hoping for a proper gaming platform like Steam, but for adult games only to be started up.

I really am honestly surprised that no one has. Considering the billions of dollars the gaming industry makes, and the billion or so that the porn industry makes, it just makes sense that there would be a platform that combines both.

I can guarantee that the first company to come along and make a platform like that, will be rolling in money, if it's good enough.
